Weekend course 6th.-7th of December

Do you want to make some Christmas presents on the pottery wheel?

The weekend classes are ideal for beginners and those of you who have already done some throwing but want to take your technique further. The course starts with the teacher demonstrating some basic throwing techniques and how to work with certain tools to help us on the way.

Saturday: Students learn how to center the clay on the pottery wheel which leads to opening and pulling up walls, giving simple and functional forms where we celebrate individuality.

Sunday: Your pieces are now turned upside down for trimming. Trimming tools are used to create a nice even foot. Students have complete freedom of creativity as they can finish with painting or carving into their forms. 

Coffee and tea are available for everyone but you are encouraged to bring food for lunch. Hagkaup is also located at Eiðistorg if you need to buy anything.

Course fees are grantable through your union in Iceland.

Age requirement: 16 years (13 years accompanied by an adult)

Included: Clay, underglaze, tools and firing*.

*Fired pieces are ready to pick up 2 weeks after your course.
